A 94-year-old retiree died in a fire in Nizhny Novgorod

A 94-year-old woman died in a fire in an apartment building in Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported by the press office of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Nizhny Novgorod Region Office.

The fire broke out in an apartment building on Hero Chugunov Street. According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by a violation of safety rules regarding the use of household electrical appliances.

The fire was extinguished over an area of 2 square meters. Six pieces of equipment and 24 firefighters were deployed to put out the blaze. According to EMERCOM representatives, there was a risk that the fire could spread to other apartments in the building.
