Altcoin Season 2026: Why This Dip May Be The Best Time To Buy

Altcoins may be offering one of their best entry points of 2026, according to analyst VirtualBacon. Bitcoin confirmed a new bull trend on August 17, when it closed above its 50-week simple moving average, and has held above that level for two months. Altcoins rallied against BTC from August 17 to September 28 but have since given back those gains. The ratio of the total altcoin market to Bitcoin is now back at its August 17 level. The difference is that Bitcoin’s bull trend is more firmly established and its September 25 to October 19 correction may have ended with a higher low. Dogecoin and XRP charts show both coins trading near post-dip lows. Tokens that have already surged, such as Venice, carry far higher risk.
