Bitcoin Price News: Peak Fear On October 15 Marked The Bottom

Bitcoin’s sharpest moves over the past month have come right after social media sentiment hit extremes, according to data from Santiment. Retail optimism across X, Reddit, Telegram and other platforms peaked on September 20, and BTC turned lower almost immediately afterward. The reverse happened on October 15, when bearish commentary reached its highest level just as Bitcoin traded near local lows below $80,000. Prices rebounded strongly in the days that followed. Santiment said retail traders dominate public crypto conversation, and prices often move against their strongest emotions. Its daily social data tracks these spikes as contrarian signals. Unusually high optimism has tended to flag profit-taking zones, while extreme fear has often appeared near short-term bottoms.
