Crypto’s regulatory progress will continue even after Republicans lost control of Congress, according to market strategist James Thorne. In a post on X, Thorne noted that the GENIUS Act is already law and stablecoin rules are being put into practice. The CLARITY Act has stalled, but the SEC and CFTC are still building rules for tokenisation and digital commodities. Democrats may be able to slow new crypto bills, Thorne said, but they cannot undo agency work already underway. Strategy’s Michael Saylor made a similar point about Bitcoin’s cross-party appeal. He said Florida voters picked a Republican governor who supported a US Bitcoin reserve, while Texas elected a Democratic senator, James Talarico, who voted for a Bitcoin reserve at the state level.
