Japan Faces Rising Inflation Pressure as BOJ Considers Further Rate Hikes

Japan’s inflation pressure is increasing as the Bank of Japan keeps tightening policy. The BOJ raised its rate to 1.25%, while the 10-year government bond yield reached 3%. The yen remains near ¥157 per dollar, raising the cost of imported energy and commodities. Manufacturing PMI reached 54.9, while services stood at 52.5, indicating continued economic growth. Governor Ueda said inflation could exceed the BOJ’s 2% target. Further rate hikes could be discussed at upcoming meetings, including October or December.
