U.S. equities traded higher on Friday, led by a 100-point gain in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The broader market showed mixed signals as technology stocks slipped while communication services rallied.

The Dow Jones index rose 0.19% to 53,673.21. The S&P 500 gained 0.09% to 7,737.82, while the NASDAQ Composite fell 0.01% to 26,541.21.

Oil traded down 1.1% to $82.63. Gold dipped 0.1% to $4,661.10. Silver rose 3.2% to $71.675, and copper increased 0.4% to $6.7175.
